The Empath Awakening

Kindle Version Empath AwakeningWell, here I am with the news of another book release: The Empath Awakening.

The book, which could be classed as a prequel to 7 Secrets of the Sensitive, is about what to expect during the transition time of an ‘Empath Awakening’.

I cover subjects such as: friendships and family, toxic relationships, how the mind, body and spirit are impacted by Empath imbalances and how to overcome them, traits that become out of balance, how a permeable aura allows other people’s emotional energy to take you down, and much more.

Because I know many of you have already purchased one of my books, I am offering it for free for five days on Kindle Select. The free offer will run from tomorrow (Wed 17th Aug) to Sunday (21st Aug).

If you want to have a quick look at the book, to get an idea of what its about, click here or on the above image, to read the blurb and some sample pages.

Here is a short extract explaining how the Empath’s weakened aura (energy-field) can impair their quality of life:

The Empath Aura

Your aura emanates around you like a luminous egg-shaped sheath. It extends around and away from the body for anything up to five feet (in a healthy person). The vibration of this energetic frame is fine and subtle.

Those who are unhealthy, in their body and mind, have an unhealthy, receded aura which is also permeable (energy leaks out and in).

Our aura both surrounds and penetrates our body and resonates with both our physical and mental bodies. Years’ worth of data is stored within our energy-field; this information is normally an accumulation of happy and sad experiences, ideas and opinions, unreleased painful emotions, negative thought-forms, past life memories and toxins, etc. Because Empaths pick up energy from others, we can also carry inside our aura their negative thought-forms and energy.

A weakened body and mind weakens our aura. Low-level thoughts and emotions, unbalanced chakras, food intolerances, poor diet, drugs and alcohol all impair the body, and anything that debilitates the body damages our aura.

When the aura is damaged, it becomes leaky. This is bad news on many levels: it allows our energy out (causing fatigue and other imbalances), and admits other people’s energy in, which then merges with our own.

Empaths are known to have a permeable aura, and this is why people’s energy can be so debilitating. But they are not the only ones. Anyone who is unhealthy or with emotional issues possess a weakened energy-field, which means their energy and emotions are also able to leak out.

If an Empath comes into close proximity with those who have a leaky aura, they will soak up anything leaked like a super-absorbent sponge. It may appear that strangers’ energy purposely infringes our own, but it is often an energetic merger.

If you are unhealthy, eat an unsuitable diet, take drugs or stimulants, drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, experience stress and have dark thoughts you will likely have a permeable aura. This means you pick the emotions and energy off others which then becomes etched within your energy-field. You are also affected by negative residual energy and other low frequency vibrations. The only way to heal the aura is by making some changes.

Experiencing overwhelm, after picking up a stranger’s emotional energy, often means the memory of it gets imprinted. Any future interactions, with unfamiliar energy, may cause something like an “energetic allergic reaction”. These reactions are draining and can leave us feeling well below par for hours or even days. If these responses become a common occurrence, following time spent in public places, it prevents us from fully participating in our own life. This is seen by avoidance of peopled areas and anything that involves social interaction.

By finding total balance of mind, body and spirit, it works something like an “energetic anti-histamine” for the Empath. A healthy body and mind results in a powerful aura and creates the Empath’s invisible armour.

A formidable aura empowers the Empath. It persuades other people’s energy to bounce off and is key to living a happier life.

We cannot expect our mind and spirit to be strong when we are putting something into the body that weakens it. Nor can we expect our body to be strong if we experience “Sensitivity stress”.

Sensitivity Stress

Empaths are Sensitive. Anyone who is Sensitive will experience overwhelming emotions, vivid thoughts, and they get hurt more easily than most. This can lead to Sensitivity stress which compromises the immune system… and eventually results in a damaged aura.

Sensitivity stress is endured by those who experience other people’s emotional pain and energy as an adverse reaction (feeling drained, experiencing negative emotion or becoming unwell), they also overreact to any emotional situation and are prone to having anxiety or panic attacks.

This type of stress is not caused by having deadlines to work to and a mammoth to-do-list (although they certainly won’t help), it is caused by having a Sensitive nature, being overly stimulated from external energy and/or having buried emotional pain. Just like normal stress, it damages the immune system and puts strain on the mind and body. This in turn leads to illness, rampant negative thoughts, and a weakened aura…

So there you go a sneaky peak at what The Empath Awakening is about.

The book will be available for free download until the 21st August. Then it will return to full Kindle price of $7.99 ($14.99 for paperback copy).

Develop Empath Intuition

Practicing meditation is essential for developing Empath intuition!

Meditation is one of the most powerful tools an Empath can use for their personal growth. A committed daily practice will serve in many ways. It will help strengthen the mind, body and spirit. It will build a powerful shield around the Empath and open up their intuition like nothing else. Strong intuition requires a clean and clear mind. A cluttered, thought-filled mind will do nothing to help us grow or develop our abilities. When we have clarity of thought and a lucid mind, magical things can happen. Thoughts are addictive and difficult to break free from. However, once we reset the mind through meditation we can switch them off far easier.

VF01

Not only does meditation build our intuition it also reprogrammes the brain into being able to better deal with negativity and enables us to deal with the onslaught of thoughts, energy and emotions we pick up from others.

Most Empaths find meditation incredibly difficult to get into because of their creative and over-active mind. Perseverance is all that is needed. Starting with a five-minute practice and building up into twenty to thirty minutes will reap incredible benefits.

Thoughts can be destructive to our health and wellbeing, especially when they are negative and repetitive. Empaths tend to spend a lot of time in their heads, which is great when thoughts are creative, happy or enlightening. However, spend too much time around certain people or in certain places and the happy thoughts can quickly turn into painful memories, anger or thoughts of being wronged. Being with certain other people can contribute to having repetitive dark thoughts. However, we don’t always make the connection because the over-whelming thoughts don’t always kick in till a day or two after being around those who triggered them. We can get so caught up and lost in these thoughts and the emotions they create that we do not question their origin. By stilling the mind in mediation it will help put a stop to any thought induced emotions.chibi_buddha_144332

I believe the best way to meditate is with an erect spine, either sitting in a straight-backed chair or in a comfy cross-legged or kneeling position on the floor. Keeping the spine straight and upright allows the energy to flow up and down and the breath to be calm. There are some who will say lying down is a perfectly acceptable way to meditate, but it is too easy to fall asleep when lying down and the opportunity to consciously quieten the mind is lost. Just make sure you feel comfortable before you start.

One of the best ways to quickly get out of the head is to focus our awareness outside of ourself, using a meditative technique called mindfulness. This can be done almost anywhere and involves focusing on something outside of your mind. You could gaze at a flickering candle or pay close attention to your scenery as you pass it by (obviously not to be done whilst driving). If you like walking in nature look up at the trees and notice all you can about the bark, branches and leaves, see the different cloud formations in the sky or inspect the wild flowers growing within the foliage.

We can engage mindfulness when walking through a busy shopping centre or peopled place. You can do this simply by paying close attention to your walking gait: notice how the heal and sole of your foot hit the floor as you walk, how this in turn carries on through the legs and up through the body, notice how your arms move, how your shoulders and head feel. Even if you do this for a matter of minutes it is a form of moving mindful meditation that will reap many benefits.

Regular meditation helps clear the mind of thoughts, fact! However, thoughts will put up a big fight to stay centre stage. When we try to quieten our mind the monkey living in our head is activated. Jumping from one random thought to another, the monkey mind can be a challenge to still and for some it will take much more effort than for others (my monkey mind is like a hyperactive sugar-driven wild child). It is at the point when they are about to make a breakthrough in meditation, that many people will give up, citing they just cannot do it because it’s too hard. Yes, it can be difficult in the initial stages but nothing good comes easily. Transformation does not happen over night, but it will not take long for you to see how a regular meditation practice can be totally transformative and a fast-tracked way to developing greater intuition.

February is the perfect month to set yourself a four week challenge. Being a leap year makes it an extra special time to set your intention. Why not use the four weeks to commit to a daily meditation practice that can transform your life and start on Monday?

To see what amazing transformations can be had by practicing meditation, set yourself a four-week challenge and allot an amount of time each day to practice. I find mornings are easiest. Get up ten to twenty minutes earlier and start with five minutes then gradually build up. If you are on a time limit set a gentle alarm. It is amazing how quickly time will go once you are enveloped in your private mind sanctuary.

If you find meditation difficult it is always best to use a guided meditation until you have more control of your mind and thoughts. There are hundreds to choose from on YouTube. I have included one above and one at the bottom of the post, just to get you started (using earphones is always best with the guided mediations).

Before you start any guided meditation make sure you are compatible with the narrator’s voice. If you do not find the voice soothing then you may get irritated by it during the meditation, which will then be a distraction. Oh an make sure you won’t be disturbed.

Trinity Healing for The Empath

Anyone who has read many of my posts may be aware that I am very much an advocate of taking responsibility for self-healing. I am a great believer (in most cases) that we are the ones who must do it for ourselves when it comes to realigning mind, body and spirit and we should not hand our power over to others, in the hopes that they will do the work for us.

I wasn’t always of this mind. When I was younger, I believed and hoped others would or could do it for me or just tell me what steps I should take to make it all better (I had sooo much to learn). I believed the best option was the easy option… Didn’t quite work out that way though…

I learnt most of the good stuff in life the best way…the hard way! What I write about here, at Just Be, I write from experience, research and self-trials. One of my great passions in life is to research all kinds of self-healing and then, if what I’ve researched resonates, put it to practise. I share what I have discovered in the hopes it may be of help to those on their own journey of self-discovery, healing and dot-connecting.

It was near 20 years ago when I started looking for answers to the mysteries of life. And although I wanted to have the answers immediately, it did not work out that way. I now realize, for very good reason. Life is a brilliant and amazing journey and a fast paced rollercoaster ride. If it were an easy, comfortable trip, we would never have to overcome so many obstacles and in turn accomplish and learn so much. We climb mountains, float on clouds and stumble into darkness, sometimes all in one day, and it is these experiences that make our journeys so worthwhile .

I have by no means got the answers to life’s mysteries, nor would I yet want to have. We have to leave something to learn on life’s path. However, the most important detail I have realized to date is: we will never find true health, peace or happiness until we heal the trinity of mind, body and spirit.

Mind = thoughts, ego and emotions.
Body =  physical vessel.
Spirit = the eternal, higher self or soul.

We come as a trinity package and when it comes to healing we normally have to work on all three. However, there are some who may find that simply working on one area, is enough to heal them in total. For example: one person may have emotional scars brought forward from previous lives, which are healed through past-life regression (spirit). Another may find blocked chakras, caused by a childhood trauma, dissolved after a series of crystal therapy sessions (spirit or mind). Another may have an incessantly busy and angry mind, causing health problems, cured by a daily meditation practise (mind). For another, a regular yoga practise may release stress held in muscles, healing a serious stress-related illness (body).

These kind of healings take place when only one or two areas of the trinity are imbalanced. It should be noted that not everyone has an imbalance in all three. However, if the body is out of alignment from the consumption of an unsuitable diet, chances are the mind and spirit will be out of balance too. It will not matter if all the chakras are balanced and the body is toned and athletic, if the body is being fed an allergen, anti-nutrient or sugar-rich foods the trinity will eventually be thrown out of unison. `

I had no idea that what we put in our mouths could have such a harmful effect on our all round physical and mental health, until I changed my diet. My transformation began when I gave up wheat [see post here ], but it did not end there. Once my mind was clear of the drug-like and mind-numbing effects of wheat, tuning into my body’s needs became easier and easier.

After wheat elimination came the removal of refined sugar and I could not believe the change again within me. Happiness became a staple.

I now realize that within the medical establishment, holistic and new-age arena they and we are being misled and misinformed. The root cause of most problems in both body and mind is what we feed ourselves. The low-fat, high grain/sugar diet we have been consuming these past thirty years is turning us into zombies and stopping us from reaching the enlightened state we are striving for.

Wheat and refined sugars strip the body of essential nutrients and enzymes. An imbalance of just one nutrient or enzyme in the body can cause untold misery in the mind. It can plunge you into the depths of despair mentally, cause chronic fatigue and sleepless nights, it can also fill your mind with negative and self-destructive thoughts and lead to a very low quality of life. I would not have believed this had I not witnessed such a transformational change within myself by eliminating certain foods and increasing enzymes and nutrients [see post here on supplements for Empaths].

Without enzymes we would cease to exist. They keep us alive, nourish our bodies and keep our mind healthy. As we age our enzyme production decreases. This, coupled with a bad diet, puts us on a fast-tracked-path to mental and physical illness. This is why it is so important to keep our enzyme consumption high and eliminate foods that strip them (first step: wheat and refined sugar). Enzymes are found in all raw foods and in supplement form.

Giving up much loved foods, such as wheat and sugar, is not easy, I know, but once out of the system you do not miss them and you will not believe just how amazing you can feel. For those who have suffered a lifelong battle with ailments, allergies, fatigue, illness, etc, you will be amazed just how well you can feel. In fact, just by eliminating them you will get a new lease of life, feel like you can take on the world and accomplish all your dreams.

Modern diets and lifestyles have taken too many Empaths and Sensitives down. Putting them out of action, without them realizing that what they eat is frying their circuits and stopping them from becoming who are they are meant to be.

It is essential for the health and sanity of Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) to eliminate all foods that have a drug-like effect as well as anything artificial, genetically modified or hybridised foods, if they want to heal themselves and discover what their true roles in life are.

HSPs are already at a huge disadvantage, when it comes to health and wellbeing, because of what they take on from others energetically and of all the populace, they are the ones who have to be extra vigilante with their diets… I know, it’s not fair 😦

Too often, these debilitating feelings many are experiencing (Sensitive or not), mentally and physically are blamed on ascension symptoms, past traumas and external energies. Believe me, they are not all caused by the shift, past traumas/lives or by others.

If you want to know what foods you need to eliminate, it’s the foods you think you cannot live without (mainly foods containing wheat and sugar). Once you embark on this journey of self-healing through diet, the information you need will present itself as and when needed.

You may already consider yourself to have a ‘healthy diet‘, but if you don’t feel amazing, then something you are eating does not agree with you. Many of the foods deemed to be healthy are in fact anti-nutrients, meaning they destroy nutrients from the good foods (GMOs are a biggie). And if you eat foods that you are intolerant to (nearly everyone is intolerant to modern wheat and sugar), it will hinder your body from absorbing the healthy nutrients it needs.

We tend to forget that the purpose for eating is to give the body the nutrients it cannot produce by itself; instead we see it as a way to banish hunger or a pleasurable pastime. Our lives can be ruined by what does or does not pass our lips.

If you want to see BIG changes in your life, change your diet!

Through trial and error I came to learn that we are not just what we eat, but that which our bodies can absorb. Modern diets, excess sugar and food allergies have made it so we are not able to absorb essential nutrients. So, even those who follow a healthy diet are far from being safe. We also have to consider that what is one man’s medicine is another man’s poison (nuts are highly nutritious for some, to others they are poison).

Your body may take a while to heal from a lifetime’s consumption of poison, but the good news is your mind heals very quickly and your intuition kicks up several notches (which is fun) also very quickly.

So, if you have worked on yourself mentally, spiritually and physically and still suffer bouts of depression, endless physical ailments and find you cannot be around others or in public places because it zaps your last shred of energy, it is time to address what you eat… Well, only if you want to transform your life in the most amazing way 😉

By changing your diet and tuning into your body’s needs it allows the light to grow within exponentially. The time has come for you to really start living, not just existing, and get doing what you came here to do. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain…

21 DAY MEDITATION CHALLENGE FROM THE CHOPRA CENTRE

If you have never meditated and would like to try, then here’s your chance. The Chopra centre is offering a free 21 day meditating challenge. This is an excellent way to commit 21 days of your life to see how meditating could change you and your life.

The hardest part of meditating can be simply setting a time aside for it. So, find a time that suits you best, perhaps first thing in the morning or just before bed. Find a quiet, comfortable space in your home, where it’s not too hot or cold and before you start make sure there will be no unwanted distractions, such as a phone ringing, a child asking for you, a rumbling stomach from hunger, or likewise, an overly full, digesting tummy. Others will say different, but I find it best to meditate sat up, with the spine erect (a slumped chest affects the breathing), when lying down it is too easy to fall asleep and although sleep is very beneficial, we’re trying to still and quieten our mind and it can take some effort to do. The mind is like a monkey and when you try to still it it will start to jump from one thought to the next trying to distract you. With patience and persistence you will eventually get to train and quieten the monkey but if you fall asleep before you have had chance then you will miss that opportunity.

The challenge begins on Monday, July 16, 2012. (All meditations are available for 7 days after they are originally posted, so you could start your challenge up to the 22nd July). The Free to Love 21-Day Meditation Challenge will feature all new guided meditations led by Deepak Chopra and other gifted teachers from the Chopra Center family.  The aim is to explore the subject of love and discover freedom from the past, experience profound healing and begin to live from a state of  unbounded love for life, ourselves, and the world.

For more information visit: http://www.chopra.com/
